What is a princess cut engagement ring?

Princess cut engagement rings are a type of diamond ring that feature a square-shaped diamond as the centre piece or focal point of the ring. The diamond is specially cut so that it creates a series of flat, triangular facets at the top and bottom of the stone that are then arranged in a pyramid-like pattern. Princess cut rings are a modern, elegant option that reflect light and sparkle in just about any lighting. If you’re looking for a sophisticated, timeless engagement ring – then check out our range of princess cut options.

Are princess cut engagement rings popular?

Yes! Princess cut rings are popular because they are versatile, elegant, and can suit a broad range of styles. The princess cut is also the perfect choice for someone wanting a larger diamond centre piece as this unique style allows for a larger stone to be set in a relatively small space. Over the last few years, we have seen an explosion in the popularity of diamond cut engagement rings with celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Jennifer Lopez opting for princess cut style diamond rings.

Measure your ring size

Planning a proposal or buying a ring for yourself? Here are five reliable ways to measure ring size.

How to measure your ring size

Find your size

Measure a Ring That Already Fits

Place the ring on a flat surface or ruler.
Measure straight across the centre of the inside circle
Measure in millimetres
Compare the diameter with a ring size chart.
Make sure the ring is worn on the same finger the new ring is for.

Use a Plastic Ring Sizer Tool

Slide the sizer onto your finger.
Tighten it until it feels snug but comfortable.
Make sure it slides over the knuckle with slight resistance.
Check it sits securely at the base without spinning.
Read the indicated size on the tool.

String or Paper Strip Method

Wrap a string or paper strip around the base of your finger.
Mark where the ends meet.
Lay it flat and measure the length in millimetres.
Compare the measurement with a ring size chart.
Avoid pulling too tight — this method is a rough estimate only.

Printable Ring Size Chart

Print the ring size chart at 100% scale.
Place your ring over the printed circles.
Find the circle that fits perfectly inside the band.
Ensure there are no gaps or overlaps.
Use a ring worn on the correct finger for accuracy.
