Why do you have a Diamond Inspection Policy?

Our diamond inspection policy ensures that the diamonds we offer you meet the highest quality standards. Every certified Natural and Lab Grown Diamond that you purchase from us is required to meet the following criteria to ensure that you receive only the finest quality diamonds:

Certified Round Diamonds:

• Cut: Excellent (EX), Ideal
• Polish: Excellent (EX)
• Symmetry: Excellent (EX)
• No Brown, Green or Milky Tinges

Certified Fancy Shape Diamonds:

• Polish: Excellent (EX) to Very Good (VG)
• Symmetry: Excellent (EX) to Very Good (VG)
• No Brown, Green or Milky Tinges

This policy covers all purchases, online and in-store. Any diamond purchased by a Customer online will be carefully inspected within 48 hours to ensure suitability

If a diamond is deemed unsuitable by GS Diamonds, you'll be notified promptly. Choosing to proceed despite the advisory voids the 30-Day Return Policy and this will be stated on the invoice.

Do your diamonds come with a diamond grade report?

Yes, all our loose diamonds that you see on our online inventory come with a GIA or IGI Grading certificate which are the most trusted laboratories in the world and most diamonds are laser inscribed on the girdle with their identification number for your peace of mind.

What is BGM in a diamond?

BGM, in the context of diamonds, stands for ‘Brown, Green, or Milky’ — the type of background shade or hue that can be found in a stone.

The natural formation process of a diamond can result in the presence of subtle color tints. This can pose a challenge for white diamonds, as even minimal coloration can significantly influence how light is reflected, thereby affecting the diamond's overall appearance and value.

Are your diamonds conflict free?

The answer is yes. All diamond manufacturers we partner with have a certificate stating conflict free diamonds which means they have been purchased from ethical sources and not involved in funding conflicts.

Can I use my own diamond or gemstone in GS Jewellery?

GS Diamonds exclusively accepts diamonds and coloured stones that are accompanied by a valid, recognized certificate verifying the stone's authenticity and quality.

A setting fee of $650 will apply in addition to the cost of the jewellery.

While every possible care is taken during the setting process, GS Diamonds does not assume responsibility or liability for any damage that may occur to the stone. In the event of any such damage, no refund, replacement, or compensation will be offered.

By proceeding with this service, clients acknowledge and accept these terms, agreeing that GS Diamonds will not be held liable for any incidental, consequential, or unforeseen damages.

Why do diamond listings disappear from the website?

Our diamond inventory is meticulously curated from esteemed international suppliers, featuring a dynamic, live feed refreshed at regular intervals. 

Prices and diamond availability will vary often as the diamond feed is live and being accessed worldwide

Please be advised that the continuous availability of specific diamonds cannot be guaranteed. Once a diamond is sold, the corresponding link will promptly be deactivated.

Prior to finalizing any payment, we recommend consulting with your dedicated sales representative to confirm the real-time availability of your selected diamond. In the unlikely event that a diamond is sold shortly after your payment, we are committed to exploring alternative options that align with your specified criteria.

How are your diamond prices lower than other retailers?

We cut out the middle man and buy straight from the diamond manufacturers which means highest quality at wholesale prices.

Why do your diamond prices fluctuate?

Diamonds are traded in US dollars, and any fluctuations in currency exchange rates can directly impact the prices we pay as we acquire stones directly from manufacturers for you. The dynamic nature of the diamond market means that the demand and supply of diamonds can change. If there's a surge in demand or a shortage in supply, it can also influence the pricing.

GS Diamonds reserves the right to decline a purchase of a listed diamond in the event of a pricing error on the website.

Can I come in to view a diamond from your online inventory?

Not all diamonds listed on our website are available to view in-store, as many are sourced from exclusive suppliers overseas to ensure our prices remain competitive.

However, rest assured that we have a 30-day return policy, giving you peace of mind with every purchase (conditions apply). 

Our commitment to quality means that before any diamond purchase, a trained gemologists performs multiple quality checks and we adhere to a strict Diamond Inspection Policy to maintain the highest standards.

Can I design my own engagement ring?

The answer is yes ! Send us your inspiration and our expert CAD Designers will do the rest.

Can I modify one of your existing ring designs?

The answer is yes ! As most of our items are made to order, we can adjust width, height and any other adjustments you had in mind.

Can you engrave my jewellery?

We offer complimentary engraving services on specific products. Some limitations apply depending on band width or design intricacy. 

How long does it take to create a custom engagement ring?

Timelines can vary, but if you're looking to find that perfect diamond to pair with your dream setting, it usually takes about 3 to 5 weeks.

However, we've got a fantastic selection of handpicked diamonds and ring mounts available in-store that can help you find something you love even sooner!

My ring is the wrong size - what do I do?

Enjoy a free resizing within 5 years from the date of purchase. We are pleased to offer complimentary resizing for adjustments of up to 2 finger sizes in either direction. Please note that adjustments beyond this will be subject to a fee.

If resizing is not possible due to design constraints, we may necessitate the manufacturing of a new ring to reach the desired size. This will incur a fee.

Orders 

How long does it take for my online order to arrive?

Delivery time will vary depending on each order and stock availability.

'Diamond Only' orders will take up to 10 working days. If a ring setting is added to the order, the average delivery period is 5 weeks depending on stock availability.

We offer a service to expedite your order for a Fast Track Fee. Please contact us for more information.

How do I track my order?

Once your order is placed, our expert workshop begins the meticulous process of designing, casting, and setting your diamond. Following this, every piece undergoes a rigorous quality control process to ensure it meets our exacting standards.

Once completed, we’ll provide you with a tracking number so you can monitor your order as it’s shipped to you.

Are your online products available to purchase in store?

We have created a special Ready to Ship section that are available to purchase in-store.

Please note that items are distributed among our stores in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney so we encourage you to inquire about availability.

Additionally, we can facilitate the transfer of items between stores should you wish to make a purchase.

Can I collect my online order in-store?

Yes you can collect your order in store as long as you notify our sales team ahead of time. Please prepare a copy of your invoice, and 2 forms of identification.

PAYPAL ORDERS WILL BE DISPATCHED TO THE ADDRESS REGISTERED ON PAYPAL. 

If you would prefer to pick up in-store, kindly make payment via bank transfer or credit card. 

Do you charge a setting fee?

We do not charge a setting fee for all our diamonds sold in our designs.

However, if you would like us to set your own diamond or gemstone, there will be a setting fee of $650. This fee will be in addition to the cost of the jewellery.

What is the validity period for a quote?

Quotes on jewellery items remain valid for 14 days

Diamond quotes are applicable for a duration of 24 hours. Subsequently, the pricing will be adjusted based on the prevailing market rates for diamonds.

How do I cancel an order?

Cancellations are handled on a case by case basis and a cancellation fee may apply.

Do you provide a jewellery cleaning service?

We offer complimentary lifetime cleaning services for your jewelry. We invite you to visit any of our showrooms, where our team will inspect your piece to ensure that all stones are securely set before expertly cleaning your jewellery.

How do I claim my complimentary services?

As part of our commitment to exceptional service, simply visit us in-store to claim:

-  lifetime cleaning for your items —visit our stores, and we’ll inspect your piece to ensure all stones are securely set before giving it a sparkling clean with our ultrasonic cleaner.

- 1 complimentary polish of your purchase for Platinum, 18k Yellow Gold, and 18k Rose Gold jewellery. For 18k White Gold jewellery, this includes both polishing and rhodium plating service.

-  1 complimentary engraving on specific products. Some limitations apply depending on band width or design intricacy.

Please note all complimentary services are available exclusively for clients within Australia.

Do you offer free resizing?

In line with our commitment to your total satisfaction, we offer one complimentary resizing service for rings:

- Available for 5 years from the date of purchase

- Free resizing includes up to 2 finger sizes up or down

- Additional sizes will incur a fee

Please note, the standard resizing process takes approximately two weeks.

Should you be unable to drop by one of our branches, you're welcome to ship the item to our Sydney workshop through an insured courier. Please note that any shipping costs incurred will be your responsibility. Rest assured, we'll cover the return shipping cost for the resized ring.

What is the cost of shipping?

GS Diamonds is pleased to offer free and fully insured shipping to anywhere within Australia and New Zealand. Free shipping is also available to the following countries:

Austria, Bermuda, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Trinidad and Tobago, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Kindly note that free shipping is on orders for new purchases only and not for resulting services such as resizing, polishing and plating, or any other repair work.

How do I return an item?

Upon receiving your order, please inspect the items immediately. If there are any issues or discrepancies, or if you wish to return the items, please notify us within 30 days of receiving the package.
